Sebo just announced price increases, that will go into effect in October. Dyson also announced price increases a few months back, and I'm sure Miele will be next on the list.

Vacuum shops and companies in general are in for a rough time. These Tarrifs are a disaster as expected.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

NO PLEASE! NO NO NO NO NO NO!

I was planning on buying some Sebo Turbine Tools from my Sebo Dealer next month.

They already increased the prices on the website just yesterday. I hope the new CEO Adam will still keep the company here strong, John recently stepped down a few months ago.

Even before Jupiter ( the orange colored gas giant ) became Pres and there were no tariffs on household appliances imported from the EU ( I spent hours scrutinizing the US tariff schedule to verify this to be true, no tariffs on imported vacuums ) Sebo and Miele were charging US customers two to three times the price of the same vacuum sold in the EU. We pay a premium because the Germans have everyone convinced their stuff is so much better than anybody elses, and people buy into the hype. There is no way a D costs $400 more to make than an E or even a K. The amount of materials and assembly steps necessary to make them do not justify that price differential, especially when in the EU the price difference between the models is on the order of 25-30 Euros. We get boned on price because the Germans know we are suckers for the "Made in German" label.

Here in the UK SEBO prices have increased year on year since Covid. Gone are the days you could get an entry level Automatic X series for around £200 you’re looking at over £300 now but when you look at the cording find cordless it’s quite cheap and it will last too.
Accessories, bags and filters have increased but still remain competitive.

I did not know about the new CEO. Miele was probably Sebo’s main competitor, I believe Miele is going down hill. As of today on Sebo USA, the D4 is $1,449. The price is still great compared to what Miele is offering at the price. If Miele was able to charge about $1,700 for the Brilliant, I would pay that for a D4.

Sebo's primary competition is Lindhaus. They are I believe the second largest seller in the US of commercial uprights with Sebo at number 1. The household side is small potatoes compared to the commercial / industrial / hospitality side of their business. Miele does not compete in that arena.

There is no vacuum made that is worth more than $1,000. None of them cost anywhere near that much to produce. You are just handing over many hundreds of bucks to these companies for a fancy name. The prices Sebo and Miele charge in the EU, a third to a half of the price for the identical vacuum sold in the US, are realistic for what you get.
