Hey there, Ken and I just bought a new sebo and he absolutly hates it. I think it is amazing and does a great job on the carpet, but Ken thinks it is difficult to pull around the house. I was wondering what your guys' opinion was on the vacuum or if anyone was interested in it. The vacuum is brand new and comes with 8 bags and caps. The nozzle is the one from the felix.

Have one-the machine does work well-but the Melie is better.Sebo should upgrade the machine to use Filtrete type bags.the paper bags can clog.I also have the Sebo uprights.For clean air machines they work alright.Like "dirty air" machines better.Sebo and the new Melie are about the only clean air uprights that work.The offset hose position on the Sebo canister unit is what makes them hard to handle.the Sebos are built well though.The dealer took one apart to show me.they have high quality motors like Melie.

Sebo 3.1 is a great machine.
I have one, thanks to Andy Weter. I don't think they can be surpassed to a great degree, except in terms of style preferences. It competes with Miele and Simplicity very well. Try ordering the HEPA Service Pack instead of the regular bags. There's a HEPA pack for the upright and for the canister. The bags are the same, but the filters are different. I use the HEPA bags in mine. They're a little hard to find, but they're out there. That should bring the bag up to par with Miele and Simplicity bags. I imagine someone around here would want one if you sold it, but I wouldn't be parted from mine.

I have the Sebo Airbelt K1 Komfort...I bought it just before Christmas, since it was reduced from £180 to £100. At nearly half price, I couldn't resist, since I was curious to try it out.
I have to say, I was disappointed with it. You start out with excellent suction - as should be expected from a 2100w cleaner! However, after 10 minutes use, you can hear the turbonozzle getting rapidly slower, until it's really not doing much at all. I'm sure the performance would be better with the electrobrush from the Felix, though, since it doesn't rely on the airflow to perform efficiently. And with those stiff, aggressive brushes, I'm sure it pulls a lot of dirt up, even with a clogged bag.
I don't like the way the upholstery nozzle has to fit onto the crevice tool, and I also can't believe Sebo don't offer a dusting brush as standard. Generally, even the most abominable £39.99 supermarket-brand vacs come with one of those!
I won't be keeping this cleaner much longer; it will find its way onto eBay in the near future, since it's just sitting in its box at the moment, taking up space!

Small accessory tools
I think most manufacturers are guilty of producing useless tool-sets these days. Even the Miele tools are a little too small for me.
I want the:
Panasonic 'scabbard' crevice tool (decent length),
Electrolux round dusting brush (decently full and soft),
Hoover upholstery nozzle (Turbopower 2/3 type, with bristles).
All tools able to fit on the ultra-long stretchable Hoover hose, with a decent plain handgrip on the hose - like the Hoover 'Freedom' & 'Sensotronic' cylinder hose handgrips of the 1970s & 80s.
I think those petrol pump / pistol-grip hoses put a hell of a strain upon the user's wrist joints.

One thing about the Sebo machines I HATE-THAT HORRIBLE dusting brush tool.Its awkward to use.-and it CLOGS if you have a lot of dust in an area.You have to use the bare hose end to cope with the bulk dust.Yes-the gas pump handles can be awkward with hand tools-the vac makers should put the gas pump pistol grips on the floor wands-NOT the hose handle end on the machine.The Melie Red Velvet gas pump handle is TERRIBLE with hand tools.but that same handle is very nice with the floor wands and tools.
I will have to ask the Sebo-Meile place here about the Sebo HEPA packs.Would be an improvement.Right now my Sebo airbelt is about half full and I have to change the bag already.the Melie Filtrete bags maintain full power even when the bag is PACKED!!

SEBO Upright V Canister
Guys and gals,
IMHO, SEBO upright machines cannot be bettered in todays market, for quality, value and efficiency.
(Apologies to James B, and all other kirby lovers, but the Kirby is simply not in the same league, with its astronomical price tag, although it is a better cleaner, the price is what brings it down my list of new purchases)
I dont have much experience of Sebo cylinder/canister cleaners, but that which I do is like Jacks, and somewhat disappointing.
Given that I have only ever seen 1 Sebo upright X1 at the local tip, but a goodly number of their cylinder cleaners have all appears with broken wheels, blown motors (which astounded me) and other maladies.
I have refurbished a number of Dyson machines in the past 3 years (something I thought I would never do out of principle, but they sell), and find for the most part that the only fault with these is the owners! They never empty the poor beasts and never clean the filters as instructed. Hence they lose suction, overheat and cut out, get taken to the dealer who insists the motor is faulty, offers the gullible 10% off a new machine which they see as a bargain when all they need to do is clear the darned thing!
Oh well, Qué séra as they say!

Well we finally broke down and drove an hour to Reading to the vacuum store we bought it at. The nozzle was amazing, but with the hose off center it was so akward to pull around the house. And man does this thing put out some heat! I never sweat when I vacuum, until I used the sebo. I have an X4 upright, Ken gave me it, and I love it! What we traded the Sebo for was a Miele Solaris. This thing looks like a toy compared to the sebo, and within the first couple of days the bag had to be changed, I say it is because our dogs are shedding, but Ken says it's because the sebo missed it. Regardless, I liked the sebo, but way too big and hard to pull around the house.
