Vacuum land member Sean, from Corpus Christi Texas, paid a visit to the vacuum cleaner museum today. Sean is an avid vacuum cleaner collector and enthusiast. Here is Sean with his completely restored, brand-new to him Fantom fury special edition. Glad I was able to help you out Sean

Here is Sean with a Hoover convertible model 66. It has a Cleveland wood products brush roll in it, which actually makes it clean better than the beater bar brush it had in it originally.

Tom, I had an absolute blast spending the day with you and enjoying the museum! Thank you so much for taking time to show me your collection and letting me play with them all. I'll definitely be coming back in the future. Also I will post pics of the Fantom when I get back to Texes. Thanks again for everything!

I NEED to make it down there sometime!

It has been a dream of mine to travel there, too bad we have been busy. Hopefully next summer, or the summer after that. When I go, I will show you pictures of ALL the vacuums I have. I want to finally meet someone that doesn't roll their eyes when I mention vacuum cleaners. Nobody in my family is a TRUE collector, so I don't think they would completely understand.

I keep telling you guys, that is what the museum is for. It's nice to have a museum that honors one brand, like the Hoover historical Center, but let's face it. Most people like more than one brand. The ability to try and enjoy what you personally like, is priceless. I'm always happy to visit with all vacuum collectors. Sean is an exceptionally bright and personable young man. He has a great future ahead of him. It was wonderful to meet him.

Nice Fury!

One correction though, this is not the "Special Edition". The Special Edition had blue/purple accents. The Special Edition was one of the later Furys with the lint trap on the bottom, and redesigned base hood. FantomVacuumFan has a beautiful example of one, a Special Edition Plus. I have this color Fury, which I was told Walmart's Furys were sold in this color. I also have 2 silver furys, 1 10 amp fury and a Limited Edition which I actually bought from Tom (Through the Museum). They are OK vacuums in my eyes. Just keep it clean and give it a good blow out every once in a while.

FantomFan,

You're right! That's why this machine is so important to me. My parents bought me this same model at Walmart for Christmas one year when I was just a little kid. I've been trying to get ahold of one for YEARS without any luck....This one however is complete with all of the attachments and has been completely rebuilt by the best of the best! Tom! I couldn't be happier and am very thankful that Tom was so kind in helping me finally find THE Fantom I've been longing for most of my life. He also gave me the original service manual! Now if I could just get my hands on a Thunder!😜. Oh and I almost forgot! I found a NOS Fantom Fury brush roll on ebay yesterday and snatched it up right then!

The Museum is open six days per week, but I only work 5. Anyone who is thinking of stopping at the Museum, please send me a message (or call the Museum at 573-265-0680) to let me know when you're going to come by. I can always change my schedule of days off to accommodate a fellow collector.

Any interesting old Panasonic, Singer or Kenmore canister vacs at the museum? I didn't see any turn up in the images. Some of the 1980's and 1990's Panasonic stuff really interests me.

Fantom Commercial Vacuum

I recently acquired an upright commercial vacuum. I needed something to get the dog hair up. I had purchased a couple of current "dog hair" vacuums but no go. This one WORKS!
Has anyone seen one of these? There is a name on it that I can't see.

Blasphemy

What's going on here. This is a promotion not promoting the only true vacuum cleaner club. This has to be removed it's a blatent advertisement for the museum at simplicity and riccar warehouse. The vacuum museum "If I make sure I'm providing accurate information" is in Tom's vacuum shop.
I don't know who started this thread. I wonder if they realize pics of the museum need to be exclusive to vacuum museum visitors.
Just pound your chest and promote your museum.

I'm going to throw a other hissy fit too. I'm going to embelish everything, ignore educated responses, keep promoting the fact that I'm a genius. The last thing is I'm spreading a dirty rumor that his vacuums don't suck.....
Yeah I went there and I did it.
I don't care what anyone thinks I can post what I want I'm a grown up. This means get over it because I don't care.
Les
