Kinda excited about this one. Found a Rainbow E Series with Aquamate II for $9.99 from a thrift store. Already have one but that's not the point, it was cheap and you never see them. I could buy a Kirby a week, but never see Rainbows, this is the 4th in years of thrift store hunting and I bought 3 of those (one was only the body and overpriced). Most that people don't use them seem to end up on Craigslist but they seem to have a higher resale value than Kirbys. Anyway it works, just gonna clean it up, then I have a rainbow on every level of the house!

Awesome

when you say clean it up, and you literally going to take it apart to clean in fans on the inside, or just clean the outside? I only ask because you never how whoever had it before you treated it...

That's a steal!

I found a first generation e series with hose and power nozzle at a flea market for 7 dollars a few years ago. Id love to find that deal again.

I'm fairly familiar so I did a pretty complete cleaning. In my findings it had probably serviced before, someone cracked one of the mounts to the top cover in a way I don't think was from dropping, so I think it was serviced and not by the distributor (guy at our office is Rainbow trained with 25 years experience and access to all parts). Spent most of the day Sunday doing it, ordered a HEPA filter which showed up in only 2 days. It turned out really good. It wasn't as good as first one I got, which was current when I got it and looked like it was used once or twice. If I don't overly manhandle the top it should be good for a long time. Given the $10 for the vac and $15 for the HEPA I'm happy with that investment. Initial test run it ran quiet, smooth and worked awesome.
