I found this almost-unused Hoover Floor Mate (H3030, aka FM 500) at a local thrift store yesterday. It had been used only once, from what I could tell. The spin brushes were almost out-of-the-box clean. There was a biggish clot of hair (ugh) plugging the entrance to the filter, and that was IT. I paid $24.82.

I did only a small amount of clean-up, though I did wash the filter thoroughly. It needed just a little cleaning and washing. The big and small wheels were dirty, but all in all, only minor. Today I went out and bought Hoover solution and took her for a spin. It did a GREAT job. And I saved about $120...

You can also just use a little Mr. Clean or Fabuloso, I use maybe a teaspoonful or two and it works fine. I have honestly never used the Hoover solution.... just don't use any pine sol or anything with a solvent because it will destroy the seals.

I have that exact model, Its a great machine, I only wish it cleaned around the edges like against cupboards.

Brilliant machine couldn't live without it
