I traded this for a cheap $60.00 canister vacuum! The guy wanted to sell it to me for $89.99! But we did an even trade. Anybody have anything to say about this?

An excellent and quiet little vac! Top-rated by Consumer Reports in the "Stick Vac" category in the mid 1990's.....there is a yellow version that features an air driven turbo nozzle for carpets and an on-board dusting brush.

One of our friends here at Vacuumland has a yellow one with the turbo nozzle (they are very rare), and there are at least two other collectors who recently acquired a blue one like yours. I remember Consumer Reports rated it "excellent" for bare floor cleaning, cleaning of surface litter off low pile carpets and very good at cleaning up to the edges.

It easily transforms into a canister vac and a hand vac - you can actually remove all the tools and just use it as a hand vac to pick up dirt directly into the hose port on the front end of the canister.

Enjoy your new toy!

Yes of course!

Nick, many Vacuumlanders are amazed that Sanyo did not continue to produce this smart little device. It really is quite a successful design!

Japan's Panasonic bought Sanyo a few years ago, and I am amazed that their vacuum cleaner line-up does not include this stick-vac. Panasonic should even supply one to Sears under the Kenmore label! It would be a great hit....methinks.

Only problem is finding bags for it - they pop up in eBay every so often, and I am sure some of the older vacuum shops in your town may have some stashed away somewhere..... :-)

Bags on eBay and Amazon are over $1.20 a piece!!!!! Luckily the shop where I got this has bags. PS I went out to kMart the other day and found a 3 pack of BISSELL (cheap quality) canister vacuum bags for $14.99!!!!

Nice

Nice transformax man! I wish they had still made these, however then they wouldnt be as rare.

I found my turquoise-y green Tranformax for $5 at a local yard sale a few years ago. It was so unusual looking I had to have it.

Clever design and surprisingly gently quiet. Getting bags for it was no problem at my favorite Mom & Pop vacuum store, Ellison's Vacuum Repair.

Equally a very light portable car vac off the base.

Keeping my eyes always looking for the Turbobrush version. Ideal configuration would be a motor driven electric power nozzle.

I got the same one a few months ago for 20 bucks at a thrift store... It is a fun, unique little vacuum. I wish it came with the attachments, but it didn't. I also wish they'd made one with a real power nozzle.... but the suction is tremendous, it isn't loud, and bags seem plentiful on ebay. I have thin flat carpet in most of my apartment and a shag rug in the living room... It works well on both, and is especially nice in front of the cat litter box because it is straight suction and doesn't kick the litter around. I typically use it in the kitchen for quick pick ups and it has yet to disappoint.

Hey Nick! Great video you did for YouTube with your Transformax! You are a great vac demonstrator! You are a good explainer and you have very clear diction...you could work at the Home Shopping Network!!!! :-)

If you feel comfortable sharing, why not post a link here? I did not want to do that without your permission.
