I was at John Gregory's "Sweeper Central" yesterday. Apparently, he got me one of my favorite Convertibles. He knew I already had one, or two, but... Wasn't that nice?
He got it on Ebay from, none other than, Mr. Alex Braun! A very nice unit, indeed. Great shipping, great sounding. A great surprise. John, areyou happy with his unit?

What a blast from the past.

The insignia on the bag reminded me that my Mom had one just like this when I was a teenager in the 60's. She replaced her Lux XXX and Kenmore Power Nozzle canister with this, I think.

Brought back many memories.

Guess that's why I have a few convertibles myself. The one in the picture is at my Fort Lauderdale home and the other three are in Buffalo area home.

dear john merry christmas i am so happy you loved your unit....i have purchased many hoovers from alex and i must say he has the most impressive unit.....we need to see more units like alex.......i think those pics will be posted in the in the "members" his unit was so well packaged and a double taped box for protection in travel is even more impressive.....alex should his facebook picture instead of the one he uses now.....i like that one better......enjoy your unit john.....you deserve it......

Thank, John!

It was a "must have". Now, I have 4, perhaps 5. I should photograph them all together. I too my 1st one to the N Canton convention. Some have the logo on the lens cover, others didn't. I could never understand how a cleaner with no light, no handle grip, and a snap bag could be "Deluxe", but, then, again...

i am so proud to have contributed the blender and pan to that award winning display at hoovers 100th anniversary....i felt as though i was with you....your units were just awesome

john was alex's unit a half bottom with cut outs or a full bottom convertible based unit....i am just curious being i wanted you to be surprised when you opened it ....give us a shot of the undercarriage

I'll check out the base tomorrow.

I have HOOVER blenders, as Jackie Kennedy would say, "In every color". Same goes with the fry pans and coffeepots.....and crepe makers, and waffle irons, toasters, oh my! There truly are "fine appliances...all around my house, and my little world".

john i wanted to see the underside of the vac is a cut out base or is it full...pose it with your flawless u4021.....sincerely john

Absolutely Gorgeous!

You are certainly a man after my own heart, John. Being a die-hard Hoover fan myself, I am very glad to see that such a fine vintage
Hoover went to someone who truly appreciates it. (BTW, I also love your U4003 too!) I wish you many years of happiness with it!

THAT IS SUCH A GREAT FIND! I wish I could find vintage Hoover Convertibles in my area. In two years of active searching on Craigslist, at an annual summer-long rummage sale, at thrift stores, and at many tag sales, I have only found TWO CONVERTIBLES! And both of them were the newer plastic type.
