Sanitronic win

Just won this sanitronic for $13 on goodwill. Should make for a fun easy quick restoration. Not sure if it's much original anymore but it looks to be in good shape. My first non d80 sanitronic Kirby finally

I really need to have a house with some carpet in it. I have many uprights and no carpet to vacuum hah

Looks spot on being original. It has the sought after white cord. The handle looks green but it's a sanitronoc tan color.
It looks all original to me and a great price

It's a 562 the first sanitronic vacuum.
It's got what is now known as sanitronic bag which has closed top sani pocket with zipper.

Hens teeth

This is the hens teeth cord next to my 562 shell bag topper and guard are in top right of pic.

Well it finally arrived.

About a basketball sized wad of dirt in the bag. Emptor packed full all the way to the fan. But it's all there and all very original

Will be working on it this weekend mostly

Ah interesting that goodwill flat-packed it. All the Kirbys I have bought they shipped them upright. They flat-packed all my Hoover uprights I bought though.

This is going to take a lot of work. Been trying different methods. I really need my bench grinder up and running with a buffing wheel.

It's actually not in bad shape. I'd go over it with some steel wool it will get most the oxidation marks off. You may be able to polish it after using steel wool. I just polished a 562 that had a bad motor and coil. It was in similar shape body wise. I had 2 ds50s that were water rusted from fan all the way to the bottom of the armature.
When you polish if you clean up each screw before putting it back on it helps.

Best I can do by hand so far. Just part of the emptor. My hands get awfully sore when doing this. Will take ages to do the whole machine

The

Nozzle and the entire are the hardest to do. I tape the plastic handle latch switch when you polish the outer housing. It looks pretty good so far.

Yea. I'm fully disassembling the vacuum as I need to redo the bearings inside so will make it easiest to polish at least
