Sanitronic VII teardown and initial cleaning completed. carbons are great, even has the original servicable bearings! amsoil grease in them and they're very smooth turning now! only part that will need to be ordered is a touch touch control ratchet. everything just needs to be sanded and steel wooled! photos of the "after" when it's done.

I still find it amazing that a Kirby of that vintage can still work perfectly with just a little effort.  That can't be said about many vacuums made today.  Have fun with it!
 
Yes................nice to see quality built Vacuums. I remember taking an old Lux89 on trade one time and it still had the original brushes in the motor after 30 years.
