Hi all, last week I found this vacuum. I came with a hose (stiffish), attachment cabinet(worn), some attachments and of course the machine.
When I removed the bag is was damp, had me worried. What came out when I washed it off with the hose, was mud. I popped into the laundry. After careful examination, I found 3 worn spots. I heat patched them, but ordered a new bag.
I have dismantled most of the machine as I need to polish was some of the parts. The body is heavily oxidized, so I have begun "wiping" it with 0000 steel wool. Next I will use Mother's polish. I also had picked up a big box of Omega attachments including the Handi-Butler. I attempted to hook it up to a spare Heritage II unit, but it would not work because of the safety switch configuration.
So now I am using good old elbow grease to remove the oxidation leaving the finish smooth. This will take some time, but I really wanted one of these.
I bought a bag, replacement bumper, and book, so far. I was given the Floodlight Hood trim.
I am missing the green strap, pet/scalp attachment, the Utility Brush Nozzle, floor duster pad, and the straight extension wand. Missing, but not a priority, are Crystalator, Handi-waxer, Spray & Suds-O-gun and a few other attachments, I would never use. If anyone has a spare of the missing attachments, please let me know.
I am so stoked. I actually have put the 519 restore on hold.
I think I am done....including my desire for an Air-way Centurion.
Take care all!
