Sanitaire S440A

I know all about the canned-ham shaped Eureka TOL canisters (the 1200 series), but I've never seen a Sanitaire one until today.

The logotype used makes me believe this is a 1983 or 1984 model.

I might have to backtrack on the age of this unit by one year and say that this is really an '83 unit (the logo seen here was first used that year), since the canned-ham canister design was for the most part no longer used on Eureka's own domestic canisters.

Why? I also found an SC688B that has the label with the newer Sanitaire graphic, replete with the yin-and-yang logo.

This being colored blue, would make it part of the Sanitaire Professional series, which are a special line of Sanitaires for home use. I would believe that the Sanitaire Professional "blue" series was first sold in '83 (including upright models S634, S644, S646, S648, S650, the wide-track S678 and this S440 canister).
