Sanitaire motor gasket

What sort of adhesive should I use to glue a new motor gasket onto my Sanitaire? The gasket failed on my S662 and it was spewing dirt and lint underneath the hood. Thanks.

Rubber cement works great. Holds it there long enough for you to align and install it, and comes off if you ever need to redo or replace it.
