http://www.sanitairevac.com/Cleaning-Products/Upright/SC887B/
I bought this about a month ago for $179.95 from a local Vacuum store in my area... I was tired of the Hand Grip Peeling na dit feeling like it was loosing suction on my Windtunnel Platinum (the oreck clone) and I had bought a Kenmore Canister a few months prior (one of the green ones that was $99 on a sale) and liked neither of them..
I took my Windtunnel in and I walked out with the Sanitaire. I told him I wanted an Old School Style vacuum and one that would survive some one who was rough with stuff (sadly my vacuums don't stay pretty like some of yours). He first offered up a simplicity and then some off brand yellow thing that's by Fuller Brush.. The Sanitaire caught my eye and he explained they where loud but very good.. Just not as user friendly.. He showed me a few in the back that where fairly beat up but still worked and they where heavily used commercial ones..
We discussed that or a Royal that looks a 1920s vacuum with all metal. I couldn't lift that or was willing to pay $400. So the sanitaire with the dirt cup I took (along with there little red commercial canister, which looks like a Eureka Mighty Mite) for $300.00
One thing he said this is baised off the old Eureka uprigts, just more robust..Any turth to that
Second I have a package of belts from 1992 that are for those old Eureka uprights and they look like the spare belt i got with this one. Will they fit (ill attach pic but there round rope like belts)..
Also he said something about washing my bag out once a year, but otherwise it was maintence free
What do you guys think of these?? I plan to use my FQ for deep cleaning weeks, but use my Sanitaire upright and my little red canister sanitaire for daily chores.. I really love them both.. The upright is loud (which is fine) but it cleans amazingly well and although a tad harder to push, seems so sturdy..
