in 1984 hoover was exploding in high style with colors patterns and prints especially with the 80s plastic based convertibles reborn in lighter weight and covered hoods....hoover carried this new look to kmart....there fore hoover ceased private labeling jcpenny uprights and introduced hoover floorcare in their own right with their own unique look like kmart but on an upcale and complete unit platform ...including decade 80s and concept cleaners ....and the canisters... dimension and spirits ...in a signature slate green color ....the starting convertibles were 5 amps with headlights with a 1060 shaped hood base model and a fancier ranger shaped hooded convertible in a pastel grey as the main color in pennys tradition with the accent color stripes of red and blue with navy blue bumpers..... plus a complete line of shared model stick brooms and scrubbers and the then new hoover s1083 brush vac which was the first chinese built hoover branded product

Yes, John I cameacross the JCPenney Decade, and it happened to be from the same lineup as my vault JCPenney Concept. I was the highest bidder until 20 seconds remaining and I couldnt get another bid in in time, I was so close to having it.

I know the JCPenney Spring and Summer 1984 catalog I once had, still had the JCPenney-branded Hoover and Eureka vacuums, among them canisters made by both companies (one resembling the Hoover Portapower S1029, and another resembling that of a lower-tier, but not Mighty Mite, Eureka canister - presumably using "B" bags). All those photos were in black and white, though.
