Salvation Army Half Price Day Find

Regina! Only $8 plus tax after the 50% off discount. Looks new, just a little scratch on the right side of the hood and that's it! I already tried it on the kitchen floor, out of all of the floor cleaners I've tried, these old floor scrubbers work the best.

A few questions. First is, when was this made? Second, how do the brushes come off? Third, are the brushes currently on the machine the correct brushes for cleaning floors?

If anybody has an extra set of brushes, I'd be interested in them!

Looks like a late 70's machine to me, Those brushes should be ok to use on regular flooring though I personally would use a softer set on hardwoods.

Had a sears like it.
Mom gave me an old one she had for my first apartment
I never even used it & left it when I left.

That Regina looks like it would do a good job as I was pleasnatly surprised by my Hoover scrub n vac which maybe is late 80's???

Boy that thing gave my rugs a fluffy cleaning!

Alex, I agree with the others on the date. From looking at the brushes I would guess these were the polishing brushes. If the bristles are a mixture of lighter and darker colors then they are the scrubbing brushes. At least that is how I remember them,LOL

The brushes are a solid tan color, oops! Well they worked well with cleaning the kitchen floors, and the brushes aren't ruined.

Next on my list, I'd like to find a Hoover Floor-A-Matic that picks up the dirty water! Going around with an old towel cleaning up the dirty solution isn't very fun lol. I'd like to find a Hoover Electric Floor washer in yellow too.

Congratulations on your good luck in getting such a nice machine. I believe that the brushes just snap off: you may need to pull really hard to get them loose.

Other brushes should still be available, even for a machine of its age: you might be able to obtain them from Hesco (http://www.hescoinc.com). Also, a company called Koblenz is currently manufacturing shampoo/polishers based on the Regina designs, and still offers brushes for their machines that should fit older Reginas as well. You might want to check their website at http://www.koblenz-electric.com. Hope that this info helps!
