Hiya ladies and gents,

I have a S663 my late father bought new, and I was in the process of changing the motor and fan gaskets since they were dry rotted from storage, and unfortunately, the motor fell about 3 feet off my desk when I bumped something. It still runs but there is some very, very slight bearing noise and a very small amount of shaft play, and being 25 years old, it's time for a upper and lower bearing replacement. I do not have bearing pullers nor an arbor press, unfortunately. but I do have a vise and a bearing and cup kit for automotive, though I am more than capable of doing the job if I had the right tools. I intend to replace the rivets on the bottom with M3x6mm (or 8mm) screws so it will be serviceable in the future. The biggest problem is there is no real documentation on doing a swap (the gotchas and watch out for...), seating depth information, etc. anywhere.

A new motor would cost less than spending for tools + materials, but that does not interest me - I want to keep my Mexico built motor and the vacuum until my days end on this earth. I already have the NSK 608DD1MC3E bearings. If no one has experience with this, is there any shops that still do this kind of work, or is it a DIY-only thing?

Thanks!
