Hey Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone would know why my Royal Everlast has been having trouble pulling up the carpet nap as well as having problems with the brush not turning very well on the lower positions. My carpet is pretty low so the vacuum needs to be lower. Could it be that the belt is worn out and or the brushes need replacing?

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Alex

brush roll has several positions to adjust for wear, but yes new belt and make sure its on correct way

People like to deny it all the time, but with the kind of vacuuming we all do, belts need to be replaced every 3 months at a minimum.

Worn belts can cause problems on almost every vacuum, but they will bend the belt shaft slightly on a Royal if it gets too bad (the heat).

I have a similar Royal and when I bought the new belt I accidentally put it on backwards. I ran it for a few minutes (yes, I'm slow) and realized what I had done.

I opened it up and put it on correctly. I tried it again and it was acting like it did with the old belt.

2 minutes and a burning rubber smell = guess who gets to buy another belt? ;)
