Hi there!
Occasionally I check out vacuum websites of various brands to see is they have anything new coming soon or sales (also on the hunt for a new stick vac to replace my old one).

When I came across the TTI site I noticed they didn’t have Royal listed. So of course I googled Royal and they didn’t have a website, nothing in Wiki and nothing in the news about the company shutting down. It’s like they never existed. Anyone know what happened?

Sadly

The parent company of Royal (TTI), decided to do away with the Royal brand. Maybe one of these days they'll use the brand again but as of now they are focusing on Oreck and Hoover.

That's too bad. I've never used one but heard they cleaned as good or better than a Kirby and were much lighter and easier to use.

I agree with you. I like the Hoover Windtunnel vacuums. Now the price is out of site for the Royal badge. Also don't have the stretch hose. Those fixed length hoses are a Royal pain to use. Pun intended.

I also like the metal Royal upright in-spite of being a died in the wool Kirby man. I didn't care for the hose conversion as the floor cleaning head gets in the way for me. Still prefer to remove the floor cleaning head and attach the hose.

However the all metal Royal can ingest similar objects that the Kirby can that i am convinced would challenge even the city's vac all.

It is unfortunate that the quality went down when Royal sold out. Motors failed in the newer models right, left and center. I had 6 machines that lasted a good long time. Added a few new machines and had nothing but repairs. Commercial cleaning is hard on any vacuum and these were the commercial machines that were failing.

At one time I wasn't overly impressed with the Hoover convertible models domestic or commercial version. However looking back I would gladly accept one of those over today's choices other than the current Kirby model. Just find a good canister type vacuum for anything other than the carpeting.

No

They have HEPA filtration right behind the bag.
There good vacs just loud and not great. The mighty mite is what you want.
