I can't say that I'm impressed, with the wheels on a Royal aluminum upright. I'm presently working out the details, to use 61mm skateboard wheels. Curious, if anyone else has tried this?

No

I have thought about it. The issue is the width and the diameter of the center.
If those check out do it.

This was talked about yrs ago in here....I thought then it was feasible to use if they fit. The bearings used in skateboard wheels are notoriously good quality as well.

Royal

The wheels on royals are better than Kirby's, Hoover's, eureka's, and pretty much every upright. If you have the royal wider wheels anything short of picking vacuum up and throwing it onto concrete there not going to chip.
Im going to assume you mean narrow wheels. There average.

"Better" is a relative term. There was a member in here that posted his Royal sat in a car with a window down and rain water disintegrated his wheels. With plastic or phenolic resin, that would have been impossible.

So what they were made of, I haven't a clue. You've got those big skateboards...I forget what they're called, but they have wide wheels.

Sure.......

but you're asking me to consider another member completely fabricated a story. Maybe there was more involved, maybe not.

But one thing for sure, my Royals are never going through or near a water puddle or wet conditions.....lol!
