I remember sometime last year there was a Hoover 105(?) in very poor condition that someone had listed starting at $5000, and on the UK eBay, a Junior 370, again in poor condition starting at £500...some people really need to do the research before listing an item!
... when no one bids. I used to write "are you out of your mind?!" messages to these types of sellers but they just get mad - don't really want to hear it and usually make some lame retort like, "I'll have you know the Smithsonian is interested in this fine priceless antique and has offered me a thousand bucks for it."
After they have to pay the high listing fee and don't get any bids, they'll get it.
There's a Model 750 which has been listed continuously for at least a year now, with a starting price of $289...never gotten a single bid, and the seller has never seen fit to lower the start price...I'd hate to think how much they've had to pay in listing fees...
This is a problem-vintage vacs that are EXCESSIVLY priced-and out of the market.FORGET THOSE!!"Now may we put your antique vintage vacuum cleaner on the convenient monthly payment plan?"
A shame really, I would love to have an early Royal for my collection, but not at that price. The seller is brand new to eBay, but once nobody bids on the item, he or she will get the hint.
