I just found and bought a Royal 888 off eBay this morning. The hard to find Royal with the belt lifter and removable nozzle. I am very much looking forward to receiving this! It’s one of the few Royals I wanted.

I have the 990 electro hygiene red version. I do have a 888 nozzle with belt lifter. If I ever get to it will make it a hybrid 880/888 it's the knob that holds the nozzle on Is the issue.
My 990 is 400 watts which is about 3.25 amps. I have a regular royal with the same motor that's the quietest vacuum ever. It is as lot louder but very powerful.
It looks like a great vacuum and can't wait for the video on it.

congrats! I have that exact model. You'll notice the practical differences between Kirby's design and Royal's removable head

Think you'll enjoy it! it will take the same hose and attachments as a Royal 880, but you'll need a special adapter, made only for the Royal 888, Electro-Hygiene 980, and Galaxy Prestige 990. Here's a pic of the adapter.
