I don't see these very often on ebay. I figured I'd let everyone know, because this is a great vacuum and the price isn't that bad either!

I bought one for my brother and sis-n-law as a housewarming whent hey bought their house in '04. Cool machine, they absolutely hate it. Too Heavy!! sis-n-law says. I didn't think it was overly heavy, but then again I have always had Kirbys.

They bought a plastic something from K-Mart as their main vac, and only display the Powercast when I am coming over.

Yes, they are heavy, and they can be a major PIA to repair. However, they seem to clean well when they're working. I believe they also have a 7 year warranty which is unbelieveable.

(I'm a Royal fan BTW but these aren't as solid as their classic uprights)

I bought one of that same model 2 years ago NIB with the attachments for $100, was too good of a deal to pass up really. It's a very heavy monstrosity, but it does clean very well. I thought it was strange that it actually has a large DC motor though, but it really turns the brushroll.

There were three PowerCast models, 9000, 9100 and 9200. This is the 9000, the low-tier model. The one to really be on the lookout for is the 9200 with charcoal gray trim. It has a two-stage fan that creates incredible power!

I have the maroon 9100 and, as others have noted, the PowerCast is very heavy and difficult to maneuver around. But it is a little piece of vacuum cleaner, another one of those "oddball" machines that come and go. I got the 9100 because the 9200 was so much more expensive, but now I wish I had gone for it.

One of the cool features of the 9100 & 9200 deluxe attachment set is an ultra-flex hose similar to the early Hoover Constellation -- you can leave the machine at the foot of the stairs and easily stretch the hose all the way up to the top!

Not for anything guys but that machine is a huge white elephant. Save your money! They have been out of production for several years now. And the worst part is that they are a terrible cleaning machine.

Encorevacuums...

I beg to differ..I have a Power Cast and it is one of my best cleaning uprights, and I have about 250+ machines. So I have used and own quite a variety. It has tremendous suction, and great deep cleaning power. And when you have one and see it and use it everyday, it actually isn't THAT big or heavy.

I have two Powercast vacuums-will take a Kirby,Royal,Sanitaire,or most any direct air vacuum over the Powercast. There was a cleaning service here in town that used to have them. The machines just can't take commercial service-most problems-broken handles and the women users complained the Powercast was too heavy. They changed to Sanitaires. The Powercast is hampered by a lousy bag system.
