Royal Metal Uprights

I took my Royal 2075 that was manufactured in 1996 out for a spin this afternoon. While it's not as flexible as a Kirby G series vacuum, I still really like its simplicity of design and its tremendous cleaning power. It's also very light and quite maneuverable. The brush stiffeners help a lot with that! With the "HEPA Type" bags, filtration is vastly improved, and the thing seems to be virtually indestructible too! In short, I really like it!

However, I'm just wondering what Royal Metal Uprights are like since TTI took over the Royal Appliance Company. Does anyone have any experience with one of their metal upright vacuums manufactured in Asia?

they have higher amp motors and are real *screamers* royals are my fave.

I have some Asian built royal metals-Commercial models-3 wire orange cords and orange outer bags.I find the machines work well-but history of life on the Asian motors is still unknown.Think it was a BIG mistake of TTI to maove the Royal production to Asia.

The 2075 that I have has a 10 amp motor. It's a screamer too! LOL! I'm especially curious about quality control and long-term durability. Only time will tell about long-term durability.

They are still pretty good quality. As others have mentioned, power has been upped. We sell a lot of them. They also have good warranties. They have drop-in motors unlike the early ones, and while they last quite a long time (decades if you maintain them) they have a slightly higher tendency for failure.

I don't like to support TTI, but the metal Royals are still one of the best vacuums to be had.
