Royal everlast

I'm from England and can't find anyone who's imported a royal everlast, so can't get no info on it, I've found one on eBay for 350 dollars, it would be 500 dollars by time it reaches me. My question is are they anygood, what do you guys think? Or am I mad spending 500 on a vacuum. Is it worth the bucks? Thanks

What you'd be looking for is a 1028Z-UK, 1030Z-UK, 1058Z-UK or 1059Z-UK... or an MRY8100-UK, MRY8200-UK or MRY8300-UK. The "UK" suffix would mean 240 volts for you.

What model was the one on ebay 8100 - 8400?


 


The Everlast series are rare, so if the ebay machine is in very good to excellent condition and model 8200 - 8400 I would say go for it!  (the 8100 has no headlight and a smaller motor)


 


I have a Royal Everlast 8300 which was the most popular Everlast model. The Everlast series is models 8100, 8200, 8300 and 8400 depending on features and options. The 8100 was bare bones and the 8400 had every option including chrome wheel covers. The 8300 retail price in 2008 was about $750.00 brand new. I love my Royal 8300. It cleans slightly better than my Kirby Sentria. I bought it from another collector for $100.00.


 


The Everlast 8300 and 8400 had 10 amp (1200 watt) motors which is a lot for a  Direct Air machine. The 10 amp motor is noisy but the cleaning performance is as good as it gets or equal to or better than the newest Kirby Avalir's.


 


It may be easier to purchase a step down transformer than to try and find a 240 volt model.

Thank you guys for the quick response, I'm sorry I'm not in the no, it's a cr5130z which is probably totally different. I just want one that's metal and made to last, I have 1950s hoover, which has seen better days and a newi sh hoover globe absolute rubbish, my friend has a kirby, but I thought this would be better, nice 8300 sptyks and thanks for the welcome kirby classicslll

The CR5130Z was the 2011 equivalent to the 1030Z. Good luck finding a 240V CR5130Z-UK, then!

The CR5130z is the Commercial version of the standard Royal vacuums. It has a bright Orange outer  bag and a 50 ft. Orange power cord. It has a 10 amp motor so it is a very powerful machine. It sells for $366 - $395 brand new.

Just curious, how does the 8300 clean slightly better than your Sentria? Is it just due to it having the larger motor and more airflow or more?

Not only does the 8300 have way more airflow (over 150 CFM). The brushroll has very soft bristles but it also has stiffeners which act like beater bars. I can literally see my pink test sand dancing around a full 2 feet in front of the floor nozzle. The only drawback is that the 10 amp motor with 9 blade metal fan is somewhat loud.


 


I use my Sentria and G3 as Daily Drivers but I pull out my Everlast 8300 about once a month to do a thorough deep clean of all my carpets.

Keep in mind that the CR5130Z-UK that you want to find would be listed as having a 5 amp motor since you have 240V.

I am not trying to start a war here, but I have had the Royal Everlast (Red/Burgandy) and also a Royal 880 years ago. I just purchased the 880 again that seems to be in good shape, but haven't cleaned or sanitized it as of yet. I do have a new brush roll for it as well. With all that said, I have a low plush carpet and my Everlast never seemed to brush up the nap and groom my carpet as well as my Kirby's or Electrolux's. I still have the same carpet and am anxious to detail the 880 I bought a few months back and see how well it works, now that my carpet has some wear on it......It does have a higher amp motor than my original 880 did.

The Red Everlast is the 8200 model which has a smaller motor (7amp) than the 8300 (10 amp). Did your 8200 have brush stiffeners? This may be why yours did not groom well.


 


The 880 has the smallest motor at only 3 or 4 amps.


 


My Everlast 8300 has no problem grooming my medium plush carpet.

I am sure mine had the 10amp motor perhaps the M4000?(screamer) and the 5 position foot pedal. I always wondered if it had the infinite screw adjustment, that it would have groomed my carpets better...I also wondered about the weight. Had it been heavier, it might have groomed better as well. Any Kirby I have had with the Tech Drive has groomed my carpet much better, especially when they came out with the stiffer brush rolls. I live in a one story condo, so I don't really have to lift an upright upstairs, I just roll it to the next room....so weight is not an issue.
