Inspired by the fact that some Hoover commercial uprights were merely twins to their consumer counterparts but in greyscale (read: their UK-market U4002 Ranger was available in gold for consumer markets and grey for commercial markets), I am now wondering if Royal ever based any of its commercial metal uprights as mere mirror-images of their consumer uprights, but with the commercial trim (dark blue bag and grey trim)???
For example: a model 3-602 would use a 3-wire cord instead of a 2-wire one, as did its replacement, the 3-604.
The 401 Pony tank would have a 3-wire cord for the commercial market and become thus the 3-401.
The 501 Prince hand vac would have a 3-wire cord for the commercial market and become the 3-501.
