These were found in the vicinity of two all metal Royal uprights. I was wondering if anyone recognized these as being Royal brand brushrolls. And with all the rows of bristles, are they a special kind of brushroll? Thanks in advance.

Mark,

Those you had found were known as "Pile Lifters" and could be installed in place of the original brush roll. However they were also installed in this nozzle casting used on models 888, 893, 980, 990, 2001 and 2002.

Right Jeff, these are floor polishing brush rolls. The bristles are somewhat softer than those on the rug cleaning brush rolls.

I believe Kirby touted their rug renovator as a pile lifting device when used without cleaning solution.

Yes

I get the Kirby nozzle names mixed up.
I need just 2 wheel covers and this brush roll and my 980 electro hygiene is complete.
