Hello Folks,

I would love one; I believe the best current domestic model is the 8300.

Are they available in the UK?

If not would I have to contact ROYAL directly?

Thanks, Walter. SHROPSHIRE, ENGLAND, UK.

Royal 8300

Hello Walter,

The Royal 8300 has been out of production for about 10 years now. The best place to find one now would be on ebay. If you live in the UK you will need a step down transformer to run it.

I am lucky enough to own an 8300 and I love it. It is a fantastic deep cleaning machine. The only downside is that it's powerful 10 amp motor is somewhat loud.

Here are some pictures of my Royal 8300:

I have the 8200!

I had posted something recently about receiving my first royal, and I haven't been able to use it yet! The brushroll is expensive at times, though there are some new occasionally on eBay. I want a genuine one because the one it came with is not, it's also metal, and it bent. I'm in college, so I don't dare buy anything and have it sit at home and my parents see I'm buying things that I shouldn't be... Lol. I can't really share much about UK anything, but if you found one, from what I hear, they are great machines. But I can't say specifically YET!

I have the 1020Z, one of Royal’s commercial models. With its 10 amp motor, a 9 blade fan, and double-row brush roll with stiffeners, it’s one of the highest performing vacuums I’ve used. IMHO, this is what Kirby should be. After getting Royal, my Kirbys feel underpowered and overweight.

If you have a chance to import a Royal and get your hands on a voltage transformer, I don’t think you would be disappointed.

I found a 5700 on Craigslist last year for free. It's lighter than a Kirby and deep cleans and grooms the carpet just as well and the bags are cheap and hold a lot. If you can get one, even a older one with the smaller motors working well you should be happy if you can figure out the power plug issues. I see parts on eBay regularly in good used condition sometimes for a good price and they are easy enough to work on. I also have a 4650 power team canister and it is also a cleaning beast with a great power head that is great for getting corners and under things, plus all the attachments and variable motor speed, plus brush roll off and on. If you get one it would probably be pretty unique over there on your side of the pond.
