Sorry, but that one is a 903 and does not have the removable nozzle. It has the regular adjust-o-rite cover, and the models with the removable nozzle had a special adjust-o-rite cover with a built in belt lifter. Here's a pic of my Electro-Hygiene model 980, and the belt lifter cover can clearly be seen.

my royal 903 has the removable nozzle & if you look at the picture i posted of his you can clearly see the bar the nozzle attaches to.i contacted the seller about this & he told me it has the removable nozzle.i do not think he would lie to me about it.the picture with the nozzle removed is mine.it did not have the belt lifter style on it.however you can see it is removable.it does not have a latch to remove it.it has a screw & a square metal clip.i'm figure his is the same.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Yes, the model 890 and some (but not all) of the 903's were built with the bar on the bottom and the plate and screw at the top to hold the nozzle on. in that sense the nozzle is removable, but you do not take it off to use the attachments. But usually it is only considered to have a removable nozzle if it has the belt lifter, latch, and MUST be removed to use the attachments with the special adapter shown in this picture. That would only include the Royal 888, Electro-Hygiene 980, and Galaxie Prestige 990.
And by the way, looking at the data label you pictured for yours I can see it was built in Feb. 1974, during the time I was selling and servicing Electro-Hygienes.

Good morning- I happen to be the seller of the 903 that is currently on eBay. Yes it does have a screw at the top of the nozzle to remove it. Thx
The first picture doesn’t look right. I thought there was supposed to be a belt lifter. In place of the belt cap. Sort of like a Kirby. I agree with Jeff. I had the blue royal version with the removal nozzle. I probably should’ve kept it. It was hard for me to find the hose adapter pictured above. The adapters are sort of rare.

Pic 1 is a royal 888 BELT LIFTER backside on the left and a model 235 adjust o rite belt caps backside.
Pic 2 on the left is 888 adjust o rite belt lifter front view. The right is the front view of a model 235 adjust o rite belt cap.
Pic 3 is the royal 888 back view of the nozzle.
Pic 4 is the scent chamber on the 888.
Pic 5 is the backside of the 235 belt cap. It's giving you instructions on how to install the belt.
Even if you have a removable nozzle without the belt lifter you have to un hook the belt of the motor shaft. You also have to remove the cap to remove the belt.
The 888 royal, 990 electro hygiene and I can't see Jeff's post but the Galaxie prestige that is yellow. The 3 models have the belt lifter. The point of the belt lifter is to not have to remove the cap or belt from the motor shift. Thd belt lifter stays on holds the belt making it easy to reinstall.
The hose for the lt lifter models has the adapter. The standard royal has a cone that's maybe 2.5 inches deep that the hose connects with the nozzle attached. The belt lifter adapter and hose are super rare. I have a electro hygiene one and it's hose it's way more powerful than any other models. The cone shaped hose is a pain in the butt to use. The belt lifter and adaptors are rare. The fact it has a removable nozzle isn't special. I paid through the nose for an adapter and I sold it to Jeff for a fair price. I later that month won a complete electro hygiene with the adapter. Jeff looked forever for the adapter and he worked for electro hygiene for years. I knew how rare it was so I paid a good sum. The one I sold to Jeff and the one I have are identical. I almost won an 888 adaptor but I stopped at $125.
Yes the nozzle comes off but everything I mentioned is the reason the belt lifter models and hoses are so sought after.

You're right on with everything you said there with one exception, hope you don't mind if I make a correction. The Galaxie Prestige 990 had a blue cord, headlight guard, and nozzle guard, and blue bag with red printing, and was sold through the Electro-Hygiene dealerships. I sold a few of them back in the 70's, but sold more of the 903 uprights and 966 tanks. The yellow one you're thinking of was the Imperial Prestige model A-880, which I'm thinking may have been sold through a janitorial supply company. The fact that they both had "Prestige" as part of their name makes it a bit confusing.
