Its

Definitely a vacuum made by royal for Genvac. The bag wears but it's a royal made handvac.

Very interesting indeed

Never seen one before. Maybe these were produced after Royal quit making theirs? Possibly bought the tools and molding from Royal?

Panasonicvac

Come on. Look at the sticker it's exactly like royals because it is royals. It's likely a 90s handvac made for said company. It was done while royal was still us based.

Okay

Grab a royal prince and look at the model plate. Tell me someone other than royal made it. Royal had many baddies probably stark vacuum as an example.
I if you don't agree please explain the model label.

I did some digging around. Not much is findable on this company as far as online records go, likely would need to do some good old fashioned book-beating gumshoe work in dusty old files and paperwork.

1.) They were located in New Rochelle, NY with company ties to Florida and Ohio. Royal Vacuums is based in Cleveland, OH. All 3 people associated with the company on record are all from the greater New York state and local to each other. None of them have any connection to Royal Vacuums in ownership or employment. The company appears to have changed its name from Genoa to Genvac.

2.) They seem to have been in business from 10/17/1973 to 11/1/1985 and by 1990 their trademark just became abandoned under the Section 8 clause and was dissolved (6 years of no activity and no response to dissolution letters). The hand vac looks like it was possibly made in 1985 or 1975 if the serial number format is following common Julian formatting. The Electrolux bags were made in 1981.

3.) If I am understanding correctly, the money man funding the company was Prentice Hall - the school textbook company, which is rather weird. They resigned as company agents on 6/27/1984 and the GenVac company ceased activity 11/1/1985.

4.) Their only products to their name was this hand vac and some aftermarket Electrolux bags - that's all that has survived through the digital age anyway.

5.) The first owner name of the company is Paul Genova. Could "Genova" be the "GEN" in "GENVAC" perhaps?

6.) Another possible lead, the company name was changed from GENOA INDUSTRIES CORP. to GENVAC INDUSTRIES, CORP. on 1/12/1983. That must mean the vacuum is from 1985.

7.) GENOA INDUSTRIES CORP. was founded 4/16/1975.
