Hello guys . i been looking at the rotho tt vacuum i saw it a long time ago and thought it was cool. Now some guy on youtube named clay has been showing how the Rotho is better then Rainbow and Miele . But i have heard some many bad things about them.How other vacuums that have filter clog mostly bagless. but it uses a fiilter that can get nasty wet becuase it set behind the water bucket. I think hyla might be better and rainbow. i and its they clam its sealed like miele couldnt miele sue ? Whats yall thoughts ?

You might want to check one out in person. I saw one at the vacuum store. They are much bigger and very bulky when I saw the machine in person. I was somewhat disapointed with the quality.  I think it would be very heavy in actual use. 


Also did not care for the opening and how the power nozzle perfomed on the test carpet. It has a very wide opening on the bottom plate.


Of course he had the Rotho displayed RIGHT next to top of the line Mieles,Riccars and I was comparing it to my Rainbow. 


I liked the Miele and Rainbow much better. They were  quieter and easier to operate and I liked the design of the tools better. The Rotho had very generic looking tools. It was much cheaper than the Miele and Rainbow when it came to price. 


I wonder how difficult it would be to get parts for the machine as I don't know anyone who has ever owned one.


However the Rotho is a very  different and interesting machine.  Give us a report if you get one!

I was looking at the material about the Rotho we got from the vacuum store. Here are some points about the machine that I thought I would not like in actual use.


(1) unlike the Rainbow it has 2 sets of wands and 2 sets of hoses to mess with and store


(2)  it has a big bulky hose handle


(3) no storage for the tools


(4) no rotating brushes for the shampoo unit


These are some of the things that were addressed with my new Rainbow that I did not like on my older Rainbow.


I like having just ONE set of wands and ONE hose and I love the Rainbow storage rack so everything can be stored up off the floor and is easy to put away. Of course you can store ALL the tools on the machine if you like too.


Have you been able to try a Rotho out yourself?

Just noticed, I think the Rotho does not have positive connection tools and it looks like the hand unit is just an air driven unit without a separate electric motor.  I would miss the rotating end brushes on the Rainbow power nozzle. They really get right up to the edge of chairs and tables and grab the dust and grit.  Big diffrence between the power nozzle of my older Rainbows. Much better air flow and suction at the carpet on the new design. The best part of the new power nozzle is that it WILL STAND BY ITSELF AND NOT FALL OVER, NOT EVEN ONE TIME in 5 months daily use.

I watched the you tube. Did you notice how huge the Rotho is in size when he has it sitting next to a Miele? It must be twice the size and weight of my Rainbow or the Miele. Very interesting.

The major point...

about the Rotho is its SMALL WATER CAPACITY! ONE QUART!!!!! I have been in trailers where just turning on the machine would kill it.

The Rotho is a machine for homes which are already pristine clean, and only need maintenance to keep them spotless. Deep cleaning to remove tons of dirt is not the task for the Rotho.

I watched some of the videos. You are very correct. The water container looks very small and difficult to empty and clean. That was a complaint that several owners talk about their Rotho on the net. 


I really like the redesign of the water basin for my new Rainbow. Just one dump and it's done. Not true with my SE machine. I always had to rinse it out. Not a big deal but it saves time now as I use the machine almost every day. That door rack also makes a BIG difference along with the ONE hose and ONE set of stainless electric wands. I have it down to about 30 seconds to dump,flush and put it away.
