RIP Silver King?

Picture a Fairfax without a bag, and without the cloth pre-motor filter. The only filter in the modern Silver King is the flat filter over the top of the dirt container.

To compare it to a Water Matic, imagine if both Water Matic's cloth filters were gone, and just the flat filter was over the dirt container.

That's how a Silver King works. The flat filter clogs with dirt almost instantly.

OK,now I gocha on the Silver King-for the high price of these vacuums-you would think the filtering would be like the Water Matic.I use my Water Matic a lot-its my "Kitchen" vacuum. When its full just slurp it out with one of my NSS M1's that has a paper bag in the cloth bag.I vacuum out my Water Matic each month with the M1.-Or I have used my NuTone bagged central vac unit I got from the trade in pile at the Sew&vac place.Sometimes he gets interesting central vacs in the trade in pile. This NuTone one is all metal-not those crummy plastic ones they sell now.
