Is Tacony still assembling vacuum in the USA or have they fully outsourced by now. Couldn’t find much online. Thanks for any info provided

@kirbytex85 from my understanding there still assembling the S10, R30 and R40.
All future production will probably be overseas as the quality seems to be higher oddly enough .

They don't actually 'manufacture' any vacuums in the USA. Some plastic parts are injection molded in St. James, but all the components like motors, cords, switches, brush rolls, hoses, attachments, bags, filters, etc. are made in China.
Having worked at the 'factory' for 10 years, I came to know personally a ton of people who also worked there. Most are gone, most through no fault of their own. The ones I know who still work there paint a dreary picture. All the management, save one person, is gone.
Very soon, I believe the 'factory' will be just a huge warehouse, to hold the china-made cleaners and parts. The focus will be on warehousing and shipping, not on manufacturing. After all, there is an entire new 'series' (the R25) of uprights that are being rolled out - entirely made in China. The canister selections are entirely made in China ('shoulder vac', prima, jill).
For a company with engineers who actively work on 'new models', they seem to be producing cleaners with none of the 'most wanted' features that consumers want. Customers WANT lift off uprights, they want swiveling uprights, they want bagless uprights, they want powered electric hoses on the upright, self cleaning brush rolls, etc. Which is why Shark sells so many cleaners (even with their low quality) - because they are innovative and give customers the things they want. Tacony is selling cleaners that went 'out of fashion' 20 years ago.
