Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could purchase/obtain , or may have a lead on an original hose end ferrule for a Rexair model B. I do have a decent replacement hose, and the original curved upper wand.

I wouldn't mind a decent complete hose assembly either, but I figure that I would probably find a unicorn before I would be offered that, so A end ferrule will do just fine.

I am willing to pay all expenses and a amount for the end ferrule.

This machine was gifted to me by a local customer who was cleaning out her mothers house. She claims that she may still find it, but I'm a realist and NOT holding my breath...

Again any answers or advice would be great...

There is actually no such thing as an original hose end ferrule for a Model B Rexair because the machine originally used a cotton braided hose with two molded rubber ends, one of which was cemented onto the brass swivel tube which rotated inside the cast aluminum coupling. The opposite, identical, molded rubber end was a friction fit over the "hump" on the shorter end of the upper curved wand. However, replacement hoses of the vinyl, nyloflex, and other types of replacement hoses necessitated the use of a ferrule. The only such ferrule offered by Rexair, Inc., was brown, as the various brown and gold hoses used on Model D and newer, was the factory sanctioned replacement hose. This ferrule has not been available for many years. However, I have found a very similar one in black, and I believe possibly, brown also, from ESSCO, the parts wholesaler. If you are not in the vacuum business, however, they will not sell to you. Let me know if one of these would help you, and I'll send you one.

Clay...I think you've solved the mystrery...

HI Clay,

Thanks for responding to my post. I think what you've described as a "brass swivel tube which rotated inside the cast aluminum coupling"; is really what I'm looking for....

If ANYONE may have...or would wish to part with what Clay has described...please let me know....
