Evening all:

Got the 1C all dissassembled and it is ready to be buffed. I am replacing the wiring inside as it was in pretty poor shape. Can anyone direct me to a wiring diagram of how eveything should connect?

It would be much appriciated!!!

Thanks!!!!

Derek, if I had to guess, it would the be the same (if not similar to) the early 500 set up.  I'm presently on a family vacation.  However, if no one can direct you to one, I'll try to scan and post what I have when I get back home next week.  But you may need to remind me!!!!!

505 Wiring Diagram

Derek, as you can tell, this is the wiring diagram for a 505. However, I'm guessing it's the same for your 1C. Let me know if this helps. If you need any other technical information, I can scan other portions of the service manual too. Just let me know.

Basic rule of thumb for 120V wiring is, everything in line. So a complete loop from one end to the other. From the Black wire to the White one. If you cross wires that's when you get a short and other nastys.

@ Ben

This service manual covers the 505 all the way to the 562 (Sanitronic).  I think the only thing that really changed with the Sanitronic VII is the nozzle gasket.  Kirby began using the nozzle gasket that is still in use today.  Prior to that, it was a thinner gasket.  I'm still on vacation, so I'll need to wait until I'm back in my office next week in order to use the industrial strength scanner there.  This manual has over 100 pages.  That's a lot of scanning for my little flat bed scanner.
