Hi all! My name is Michael, I'm a 23yo collector from the DC area (currently living in NYC). I was pretty active on here a few years back, and have loved reading your posts from the sidelines on and off ever since. When I went to college I gave up collecting for several reasons, but never got rid of my collection and loved playing with my vacuums every time I visited home. Now that I'm grown and don't have space or money for a collection and my mom has decided to move I just wanted to get your thoughts on how to narrow my collection, I'm keeping 15ish vacuums that I love and I'm trying to get rid of the rest. I'm only home for a week and would love to pass off vacs if anyone is local to Northern Virginia, but some (like my Fantom Cyclone XT) I definitely want to sell- what do you think the best way to do this is in a short amount of time? Ebay always seems like so much work, but would short-term auctions be my best bet? Attached is a photo of most of what I'm trying to clear out, and I'm totally down for a private transaction if anyone pleases. Anyways, I missed you all and am so thankful for this online community because I don't know anyone in real life who shares the interest. Thanks in advance for the advice!

If thats a Eureka Sweet Sixteen

Behind the model 12 Electrolux I will buy it!!! Been looking for one forever!

Kirby 560 and Eureka responses

Kenkart- it's a model 1680a, not the Sweet 16 as I know it? it has a bag indicator and suction controls, I can't find the tools for the life of me but I know I've had them. Definitely would just give this one away.

Kirby inquiries- I am! It needs some cosmetic work and the bearings could use lubrication but I'd love to get a little bit of money for it :)

Michael and Kenkart - indeed that is a Eureka 1680 in metallic sky blue
- and it is the top of the line unit in the classic “Sweet Sixteen” series. From about 1969 or 1970 methinks.

Nice find! Should even come with a noisy Vibra-Beat carpet nozzle and deluxe attachments such as the square horsehair dusting brush!

KirbyCollector...

I'll shoot you an email to the address on your profile!

thanks for the info EurekaPrince! It does indeed have the vibra-beat, what an interesting contraption lol

This 1970 Eureka TV commercial shows the low end budget model of the Sweet Sixteen line-up...I think it was Model 1620. There were 4 models: 1620, 1640, 1660 and 1680....each with progressively more features like a wider handle and Cordaway cord reel:
