VERY NICE

HI Brandon Very nice job really better then nice. Did yo do it your self or didi you send it for a rebuild. I sent nine in for rebuilt in 1989 for the grand price of22.95 it came back with the same bag you have. What a wonderful company to keep with their prices for so many years. I am getting ready to send my Heritage back for a build. It needa a NEW BAG,NEW FAN BLADE, NEW CORD. I pray that Kirby will not change the new Kirby if it ever comes out to much. Well enjoy that Kirby Doug

thanks everyone :)

Rats, I got all excited with your photo of the vacuum running; a right had drive Kirby would be way cool! LOL! Your vacuum looks stunning. May I ask what you did about the oval window on the light hood? I am concerned about removal and or cleaning of mine when I start my DS50 restore.

ralph

hey so what i did was simply pop it out. then melted the plastic tabs back in with a soldering iron

I have had several of the Dual 50 Headlight lenses out and I never had to do melt anything. In fact, I wouldn't put heat near the lens or you might ruin it. I have seen lenses that melted due to the owner running a high wattage bulb in them. A friend of mine that was a huge Dual 50 fan said to only use 15 watt bulbs. To get the lens out, just press on it, I believe from the bottom. It just pressure fits in the hole. I don't believe glue or anything else is needed. Good luck!

Chad

Brandon and Chad,
Thank you both for the information. I will press on it gingerly and hope for the best. I just hate to push on things without knowing. This has cost me lots before on my car projects! Thank you again,
Ralph
