I"m so excited. After spending a morning puttering around some local Michigan thrift stores and finding nothing I hit our local one and found a lovely Super J. Unfortuantely I was on my motorbike so I couldn't bring it home and will have to go back in the morning to get it.

It has been super dry down here by west Detroit recently. I went both last Thursday and this Monday and diddn't find a thing of worth or value. I split up the run I usually go on mentioned in an earlier post.

I have some to do going on later after work downriver & I have one or two more I'm going to hit in that area....

Can't wait to see the Electrolux....

I went to the Sally Ann, the Goodwill and the St Vinnies de Paul in Pt Huron but nothing good of anything. One did have some newer plasti upright stuff in the back room but when I saw it from a distance said forget it.

So here it is... gave it a little cleanup. Not too bad a condition, hasn't got the correct dust brush.

I could fix that up with a beiege trigger handle if ya want...

It's a chrome or is it polished aluminum I think. I polished away the tarnish or at least most of it before taking the pic because it was really really dull. A trigger handle would be nice. I don't like not having a switch of some sort for the power nozzle.

Oh and btw I got my Nexus card yesterday so I can whip across the bridge in the fast lane whilst all you riff raff sit idling away. You should get one..

Here's the link. It's good for 5 years and better/cheaper than a passport for travel between the US and Canada which everyone will be required to have next spring unless they have a Nexus card.
Also if you're returning to Canada on a flight from another country other than the USA you can use your Nexus card as well at Canadian airports and avoid customs lineups.

The one hitch and some stiff rules...if you buy stuff in the US and bring it back into Canada, or vice-versa for Americans returning to the US from Canada, and you want to use the Nexus lane then you have to pre-fill out Customs forms declaring everything you bought and the values and drop it in the box at the card reader as you drive thru. They have your credit card number on your Nexus file and they will always charge you all applicable taxes and duties, no exceptions like you might get at the regular lanes and a nice border guard. So if you buy stuff and don't want to pay taxes etc you have to go thru the regular lanes and possibly line up.

You can't use the Nexus lanes if there's anyone at all in the car with you that doesn't have their own Nexus card on their person. That includes children and infants.

They can and will do random inspections of Nexus card holders. Break any rules and your card is gone for good and/or depending you may go to jail for smuggling etc.

Plus other things.. they make you sign and initial all this stuff so you can't plead ignorance later on that you weren't told this or that.

Hi Terry. I wished it was as beautiful as it looks in my sort of blurry photo LOL I used some Flitz and then some Mothers aluminum polish along with 000 steel wool and plenty o paper towels. I didn't have a lot of patience today and only spent about 15 minutes rubbing and gave up for another time. In real life it honestly doesn't look as good but it's a helluva lot better than it was when I got it. ha.

Thanks Pete, Have you ever tried plain old Chrome Polish, I got the Turtle Wax brand and have had pretty good luck with it.
