Replacement brushroll bristles

I just bought these bristles for my Convertible model 70. They slide in just fine but the ends stick out too far. Had to take a hacksaw after them. They seem to be working fine and much better than the aftermarket brushroll I bought on ebay that has two rows of brushes and no beater bar.
