We have a 70th anniversary Majestic that has broken latch on the end of the hose where the "gas pump" handle connects to the power wand or other attachments.

It broke while my wife was using it. She somehow slipped the pieces of latch back into place so she could finish vacuuming, but then my daughter used it and lost the pieces entirely, so I have no idea even what it looks like let alone how to fix it.

Is it possible to replace this latch instead of replacing the entire hose assembly? Other options might be to replace the rubber-covered connector on the end of the hose or the handle if they can be purchased separately.

It looks like the latch on the 75th anniversary model is a serviceable piece, but so far I've seen nothing on the 70th.

Thanks!

Never mind...

D'oh! Sorry, my mistake. We have two Filter Queens, and I was looking at the older one thinking that it had the damaged latch. The broken latch is on our newer one, a Majestic 360, which *does* have the latch that can easily be replaced.

Sorry for the confusion.

The latches

Are replaceable. You can find them on ebay for around $10, it comes with the latch and the spring. They are pretty easy to install. you just use a flat head to remove the "pin" from the holes on one side, and remove. Once that's finished you set the spring in insert one of the pins into one side then using a flat head you pry the latch away from the side to make sure the other pin pops into place.

I've had to replace one of them on my 75th Anniversary FQ.
