Repairing Kirby bags

Has anyone ever repaired a shake out bag on a Kirby? Started cleaning up my Classic Ω and after taking the bag off the hanger to wash it I noticed there is a small hole in it. I know how to sew it shut but I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if so what kind of thread would I need to get? Would think I would need to get something like upholstery thread or something since it's pretty thick material. Would replace it but the bag aside from the hole is actually in pretty good shape.

For heavy duty upholstery items, I usually go to the boat upholsterer. I live near multiple places that cater to boats.

Usually I would put a patch to cover the hole on the inside. But finding one close to match of color would probably not be too easy. Im not the best at sewing haha

Cool so it sounds like it is possible to repair these bags. I'll see about getting some supplies and try my hand at sewing them up.

I had to patch a small hole down low on a d 50 some years ago, iron on patch inside, hand stitched, touch up with wood furniture scratch cover on the patch. I would not say that you could't see it but was ok

Ended up getting the holes patched up with some iron on patches on the inside and you can't really see them. Do have a new question now. Just got a Kirby Classic and after washing the bag I noticed that the previous owner used elmers glue or something like that to re attach the corners of the "Kirby Classic" patch on the bag and since I washed it the water dissolved the glue and now the sides are peeling. Any one know what would be the best way to reattach that? Want something a little more permanent than the elmers glue
