Yesterday I picked up a Tri-Star EXL model A101. I could'nt resist, it was only $10! The power does'nt seem to be going through the hose. I've tested the wands, which are ok, but when I apply power to the two pins at the beginning of the hose (attaches to vacuum)...nothing. I've also checked the switch located on the pistol grip.

This tells me it must be in the hose. I checked online and replacements are 150+. Too much! Is there a cheaper alternative?

Hey Guy, try Hescoinc.com, I bought one a couple of years ago for my red Tri-Star, and it was under 40.00 plus shipping. It's a white, wire-reinforced vinyl hose, decent quality, and works perfectly.
