I have a Regina Housekeeper, Model 6308A that is part of an estate I am helping sell. I got it all cleaned up, new belt, and new bag. It works fine on both settings. It sounds fine, has decent power but everything bottlenecks in this tube and it eventually stops picking up. I have tried in multiple rooms but it looks like hair, carpet fibers, etc build up.

These vacuums sell for a good $100 plus on eBay the few that I found. Anyone have any ideas the issue? I CAN'T imagine these were sold for as long as they were if this was normal. I sell a lot of vintage vacuums from estates and I have not seen this before. It doesn't seem like good design.

If that vacuum clogs like that wouldn't give you even 10 bucks for it.No wonder why these vacuums ended up in dumpsters. Also the elbow where the floor nozzle hose goes to the bag comparetment could be another clog point.

If you sold it to a collector who wants that specific machine maybe. But if someone buys it thinking it can be their main vacuum cleaner they will be unclogging it for a while. If you don’t end up selling it and if you have the attachments I would use it for cleaning couches or cars.

Are you sure there might not be a pin or some sharp object stuck in that portion of hose? That could be causing stuff to collect around it and form a clog like that. Heck, even a small fray or 'hangnail' on the inside of the house could be causing debris to build up around it like a snowball.

I have several of those and have never had that issue. Did you disassemble the hood and check the hose? Sounds like bvac6 is right. I think there must be a pin/obstruction, or something stuck in the hose. I see you already put it on eBay with the issue described. I may run into you one day. I do estate sales in KC MO as well.

I would have to ask the question of what were they trying to suck up and how much? My mom had one similar to that and never had that issue. I wonder if they were doing one of those vacuum video's for You Tube where they empty the trash can on the floor and trying to vacuum it all up. That would plug it up like that.
