<span style="font-family: times;"><span style="font-family: times;">I thought about buying the lady's refurbished Electrolux but hesitated -- I already have several Model Es in gorgeous condition, and the fact that this one had been rebuilt, with all the original trim and cord replaced, diminished my interest in it. So I sent her a "no thanks" email.</span></span>


 


<span style="font-family: times;">She wrote back the next day, saying she had found "a big box of stuff" that goes with the Electrolux. That certainly stimulated my interest so I said she could bring it over.</span>

Perhaps she wore out her original model E, so the salesman sold her a factory rebuilt.

Electrolux Model E

Great and rare find in that condition with parts!
I have never had a Mo E with the PN outlet.To me this would be one of THE ultimate Elux--lightweight,powerful,wheels(new at that time),4 ply self sealing bags AND after filter,able to use same type hose and attachments as any Elux,able to use any Electrolux Power Nozzle.(While cordwinder is nice it does add bulk & weight.Same to some degree with Automatic Control.)
There were MoXXX branch rebuilts with riveted label in front of handle.
My guess on this is factory(Conn)rebuilt about late 70s.Note cord and plug similar to some B-8s and white wheels.
Does original serial number match contract?
Power Nozzle and even crevice tool would have been optional.Note'2 tools do the work of 5'on post cards continuing to the early 60s.
Hose would be a later vac store generic that would have worker well.

THE MYSTERY DEEPENS!

Funny, it hadn't occurred to me to compare the serial numbers on the sales receipt and on the machine. Per Rugsucker's question, I just did so ... they do not match!!!

The serial number on the receipt is P75580H.

The serial number on the rebuilt machine is P79007Z.

So the rebuilt machine is newer than the machine that the receipt went to!

(btw the serial number on the "refurbishment" tag is RC39980E.)

It's possible that the lady's cousin had two Model Es, the original one which disappeared somewhere along the way and the refurbished one. The lady who owned it died 17 years ago. Her home was sold four years ago. Some of the contents were put into a storage unit and that's where the lady who sold it to me found it.


 


I'll never know what happened; I could work myself into a frenzy wondering. But it's not that important in the grand scheme of things. I'm just happy to have this lovely Electrolux; happy it survived all these years.

It's got an excellent, perfectly running motor. I used it today to clean the wood floors in the living room, kitchen and my bedroom. The hallway and Arlee's room are carpeted, so I attached a PN1 to do those areas!

I have seen other Model Es with the PN power nozzle port. When I was 10-12 years old I used to cut grass and do odd jobs for our neighbors. Somehow or another, the vacuum cleaners at those homes always got involved! One lady had a Model E with a white Model G power nozzle and a turquoise G hose. I used it every time I went there to cut her grass. She was more than happy to let me!!

Absolutely wonderful find Charles and with great provenance. As Jimmy mentioned, perfect size, weight, power and conversion to take a power nozzle. Just beautiful!

It would be nice if Aerus reintroduced a retro model of this for a current, "B", line to compliment the contemporary models.

Nice....Re Lux rebuildsI have a factory rebuilt model XXX

It has the tag mounted just in front of the handle, not the big tag used later.
