I have one factory refurbished in hammertone blue. One day I will finally save up and get a Genuine Vinyl electric hose like yours. Until then my straight suction hose with a pigtail word strapped on will do.

I have that same style hose on a G. Not sure with all the Chinese hoses now of dubious quality, where one gets that style hose anymore.

Electrolux special edition
My mom has the special edition which I think was the lower model that came out after the L. She still has the original vinal hose and when I was there the other day, I noticed that the hose had lost over half of the suction power. I ordered her a new hose which will allow the vacuum to clean much better. I think this model uses the same motor as the 1205. Her power nozzle also had broken so I gave her one of my Perfect Power nozzles which she really likes, she actually thinks it propels itself better than the power nozzle she had originally. I should get the new hose next week, can't wait to show her the difference.

In my experience, the woven hoses are best used for asethetic/display purposes only. If you actually want to get some work done, a good vinyl hose is really the only way to go.

I still think the clear, long piece of commercial heat shrink tubing is the way to repair the old hoses. I just don't want to fork over the $30 to try it and find out the hose is then too stiff.

I agree that the use of fabric hoses should be limited are better suited for display purposes. I've heard of ways that they can be repaired but I have very few that are leaking.

Actually her original hose was a woven hose, I was getting them mixed up, I think what I bought her was a vinal hose, it has the ridges in it like most vacuum hoses. Since a vacuum is designed to clean, I would much rather have something that is going to work than just be on display. Her woven hose is definitely cracked, you can hear the air leaking in several places.

Yeah, the 'pouring plastic dip method'. No doubt you can get a hose to work for a period after that. But as far as a DD, I'm not so sure. The beautiful fabric hoses that came with Lux's over the yrs deserve some sort of repair, but they are better relegated to display.
Even the later vinyl woven hoses like on the Diamond J give up the ghost (or can). Not everyone has the room, but stretching the hoses out in a stright line seem to work the best for storage.

! Thanks so much for the feedback! I've been lucky to have found or purchased these machine in either new or very good condition . They are kept either in the box and in cool dry storage. I do my best to preserve them. Thanks again for your kind words. Have a good weekend!
