Hello. I have not posted in quite a while, as I have had other commitments. However, I have made some new friends from the forum, so have now returned, and as always liking vacuum cleaners. I have got a few new (to me) vacuum cleaners recently, only modern ones I'm afraid, but I have reconditioned them, and will share some photos.

First, this 2004 Dyson DC03 Absolute +, bought for £5.75 off eBay, had to fix the switch assembly, and has been reconditioned for my grandma who wanted a reconditioned lightweight Dyson...

DYSON DC07 Origin

This DC07 came in with a split hose, which has been replaced. The post motor filter compartment clip had snapped off so it is currently held on by tape..

I think it's from around 2007/2008?

DC07 Brush Control + DC01

This DC07 Brush Control from 2001 was purchased by me from a car boot sale for £5. I made a thread about it when I first got it.

The DC01 is from approximately 1997. It works well, and also has the outer cyclone with fins on it, as recently talked about in the Contemporary forum.

DYSON DC02 DE STIJL

I did a swap with Joe (Ultimatevacman) in January for a swap of my old Dyson DC02 Standard for his DC02 De Stijl. Works fine, but is now almost on display on a shelf in my bedroom.

Miele S2111

In early February, I decided to buy a Miele S2111 Lava Grey. It was reduced from £149.99 to £99.99 in Curry's, and as my dad's perforated filter bagless Electrolux was on its way out, it has proved an excellent all round cleaner, doing brilliant, even on the 300WATT curtain setting!

Dyson DC04 Absolute +

Now, I bought the DC04 on the left, around a year ago. It was working fine, but a few months later the motor burnt out. So, it had been sitting in my shed, just doing nothing. So, when I saw another DC04 Absolute + a few weeks ago, locally, on eBay, I decided to buy it and do a motor transplant, as it was listed as spares or repairs for 'loss of suction'. So, when I got it home, I opened up the bin to discover a full bin of smelly, wet hairs and dirt. And all the little holes on the outer cyclone were blocked, which could have been the cause of the suction loss. So, I cleaned it up, and plugged it in to test it.  When I switched it on, I got a really bad smell and the noises to indicate a motor burnout. Should I get in touch with the seller about it? The listing never mentioned a bad smell or motor burnout.

Please excuse the mess in the background, they are in my shed...
