Rebristling Brush Rolls?

I wonder how people like Don O'Connor rebristle old, worn out brush rolls?

I really want to do this with some of my rare Kirby 13-inch brush rolls.

You will need a small tipped awl, some glue, new bristle material, and maybe a set of needle nose.

If the bristles are just stubs, find the staple that holds them in with your awl, and pry it up. That should take the glued stub out of the hole. Next, prep your new bristle by folding it around the staple. It should be longer than your desired length when folded so you can cut them all equally when finished. Then, drop some superglue into the hole of the roller and push the staple with the bristles folded around it back into its holes. A needle nose with small ends would help with this. Then, drop a few drops of glue as close to the base of the bristle as you possibly can, with the intent that it goes into the hole and glues the bristles to the staple. And repeat.

I did this process successfully with a Premier brushroll, which has large, easy tufts. You may want to practice on a common roller until you are confident in your skill. It may not be the professional route, but will save a lot of money, and none of my bristles have fallen out after using this technique. I've studied what little information there is on this for years - the process seems easy but the actual exercise of doing of it seems like a great challenge. It seems really complex.
