The Airider is made in Barrie which is kind of neat. The website indicates they are having a special this holiday weekend. You can get one for $359. I can just imagine all the dust balls getting blown around. The power nozzle looks similiar to that found on the Miracle Mate.

I saw that in the weekend paper.. she obviously never heard of the Constellation or Celebrity making it sound like it's the first ever vacuum that floats on air

Good to hear the DC26 is on it's way to Canada!

Official word from Dyson with regards to the DC26 in the US is that although it's being seriously considered, no firm decision has been made at this point.

'Airider makes a handheld version of it's floating vacuum cleaner.' - they do??

I had an Airider years back, not a bad machine, and at that time there was no electric power nozzle. If I remember correctly they came in another color besides yellow. The extendable hose was an interesting touch, although heavy when not extended. I played with it a couple of times, and sold it to a fellow collector at the St. Louis convention, I think. They apparently have been around awhile. I have a dog that sheds, so anything bagless is not a good fit with me, but not a bad machine overall for what it is. As long as you don't have dog hair or floating dust bunnies, the bottom exhaust shouldn't pose a problem.

I recall seeing the Airider a few years back, too. This Canadian re-location...I imagine that the machine or it's components are sourced in China and assembled perhaps in Barrie but certainly not plastic injection-molded or manufactured here.

Had I not just committed funds to the Mystique I would be tempted to go for the Easter Offer but I imagine I will find one in a Thrift Store in a few years time. I would like to have one for it's peculiarity and who doesn't like a free floating vacuum cleaner? Of course it floats well - it weighs less than an all metal Constellation. 'weightlessness redefined' is a creative stretch since it's not actually operating in the 'vacuum of outer space'. But why quibble - it's a neat toy.

That Swiffer Vac is amazing......

it really is the simplest, yet most effective, solution to keeping bare floors clean on a daily basis.

My 83-year old mother loves it and uses it practically every day in her kitchen. The suction is not the same as a 12 amp regular canister vac, but is strong enough to even pick up pieces of broken glass, and the swiffer pad wipes up any electrostatic dust that the bare floor brush from a suction-only canister vac often leaves behind.

Mom has had her's for close to 3 years, and the rechargeable battery has not died yet!

Whenever I help out my mom by using her Kenmore canister, I usually use it with the crevice tool to clean out the cup and filter of the Swiffer Vac. Keeps the suction pretty strong that way.....

It is a fantastic addition to any vacuum arsenal in the home - and I am saying this with no financial connection to the company at all!

I really hope that Dyson will decide to sell the DC26 here in the US. I'd love to invest in one.
