rare power nozzle

So I know nothing about this other than this was private labled to be the very first Filter Queen power nozzle. I've never seen any other version of it until now. It says made in Germany by Mastercraft. Someone with.power nozzle knowledge please enlighten me.

I've seen a couple of them on central vacs as well as the Filter Queen version.

It doesn't have the normal type of wand connection that FQ is famous for...so what kind of wand would have been used with it?

That is NOT the FQ powerhead you have there, that is the central vac version.

Gary, as you can see in this pic, the elbow is slightly different, looks like there is a metal adapter & it would use the standard curved FQ powerhead wand they used up until the 90's, when the Triple Crown came out.

Oh I know mine isn't the actual fq nozzle. Thats why i wanted to know what it did go to. I think this is the neatest little pn. It is much like the whirlpool made nozzles.

What model of filter queen would have had this? So would it be a horrible thing to do if I found a fq label like that and found a wand adaptor and made this a fq wand?

Don't you mean a 'faux Filter Queen'

I don't know that I would classify it as horrible, I mean, it's yours and you can do anything you want to with it. I'm sure some people cringe at the way I've turned my Kirby G5 into a bit of a "frankenvac" with compatible parts from a few other Kirby models, but I like its uniqueness and it works better than it did before.

If it were mine, I wouldn't worry so much about finding an emblem--that's just cosmetics--but if you need it to use with your Filter Queen, then definitely swap out the elbow. That would make it more functional for your purposes. You can always swap that back later if you want to make it original again.

That's just my $0.02.

I agree with human...

As long as YOU like it, it makes you happy, it serves it's purpose...who cares if it's 100% authentic? My go to cleaner right now is a Hoover 61 that was spray painted an atrocious gold hammer tone by a vac shop, has a white replacement cord, it's beat to hell, and it has a DVC shake out bag. Is it original? Hell no! But it works well for me! Throwing my $0.02 in there too. Gotta say, it's a neat looking power nozzle!

My Air-Way (Vita-Vac) came with a Douglas P/N that I didn't care for, I hooked it up to a Eureka P/N with VGI and it's great. I still have the Douglas PN for show and authenticity, but I use the Eureka when I want to "clean" with it.

I've had both power nozzles and the only difference is an adapter glued into the elbow and the Filter Queen name on it. The earliest Filter Queen ones had a brown cord with a normal plug on them and a normal outlet on the machine then they changed to a grey cord with the small two pin plug
