Hello, again violating my own rule about posting eBay links, but in this case, also again, it appears no one has seen this -- so I am posting this as an alert.

It's a VERY rare first version of the Electrolux Turb-O-Tool, which replaced the earlier Air-Powered Floor Polisher & Scrubber.

This first came out with the last run of the E-Automatics and was made for a VERY short time in Hammertone blue.

When The Model F came out in late 1957, the Turb-O-Tool was redone in matching gray and white with gray trim.

Then when the G came out, the T-O-T's rubber trim was changed to dark turquoise, the housing was painted all-white and the new rug shampooing kit was introduced.

(Then, later, the all-new larger plastic rug washer was introduced and was still being offered at least as late as the Grand Marquis in 1988.)

Anyway, it would be a shame for this to get away given its rarity. I'd bid but already have three of them... don't want to be greedy! :)

Oh, er, sorry... usually ebay listings have a page count of visitors and I didn't see one on this listing. I am sure you'll get it with no prob --- there has not been a single bid on it.

Well, congratulations are in order to Mr. ÆolianDave!

"Such a deal!"

(I won't tell you what I paid for the first one of these that I found...!)

btw, if you ever get a wild hair and decide you need to rid yourself of that gorgeous Westinhouse tank, I have the other two models; have always wanted the third...

Enjoy your Turb-O-Tool! :)

I thought I knew it was worth watching and bidding on, Charles. Your post confirmed what I was only guessing at, according to the color. It was also the blue hammertone polisher 'shoe' I was most interested in. My first blue Turb-O-Tool unit - from Doug Smith - came with the drill chuck and a rubber polisher pad on an armature. My other Turb-o-tool is the 'G' white & turquoise one plus the matching waxer/shampoo base with the turquoise solution tank that sits atop the Turbo motor unit.

So, I'm very pleased to have made a play for this, now that I have re-established my West Central Pennsylvania shipping address. :-) Since USPS changed its policy to ship only Priority International the rates to Canada are just too high. A year ago, a 25 lb cylinder vacuum cleaner could be shipped standard to my town from the US for just under $30; that same vacuum today would run close to $70.

Btw, my next target will be that pale green Comvac that passed without a bid last week. I too passed it up, assuming it would skyrocket in the last 5 minutes.

Just goes to show...oh, something or other. :-)

Dave, working too much but happily awaiting the daily reports from North Canton.

I must officially protest!!!

I was too busy and distracted at the Convention to bid on this item!!!! Dave, in all fairness to me, you must not bid on neat stuff while I'm busy and distracted...LOL

Enjoy!
Rick

Thanks Dave...

I started watching it.....Don't need the other stuff....just the turb-o-tool...perhaps if it doesn't sell, they'll cut a deal on it!

snag the Turb-o-tool and re-flog the E on ebay. :-)

Here's my other blue Turb-o-tool drill chuck & polisher disk. To the right are a bunch o' Electrolux floor nozzles and to the left a GREY hammertone polisher. The two other blue ones and the white/turq Turb-o-tool Shampooer are in their own cartons 'two elevator stops down'.

Charles,

You mentioned in your original post that the Electrolux Rug Washer was manufactured through at least 1988 with the Grand Marquise. I have only ever known (or seen) the ones in colors through the Diamond J (sand/jade).

I will take for granted, then, that the last two iterations of the unit were in the colors of the Marquise (sand/taupe) and the Grand Marquise/Legacy/Ultralux (sand/denim). Please post photos of them if you have them, or perhaps there were color photos in the owners' manuals?
