Rainbow stainless steel wand & rug tool compatibility

I bought a 3-pc stainless steel wand set for my Rainbow SE & it seems like the lower curved wand won't go all the way into the rug tool or the old D2 floor tool. What can I do? Or did I end up getting the aftermarket wands? It fit the D4SE floor tool fine.

Wait? I think the stainless wands were redesigned so that they snap locked instead of those little bumps on the lower curved wand. Is this what you're talking about? Notice how he instructs how they will fit?

My floor brush REQUIRES the lower curved wand instead of the straight one; I don't have the new style w/built-in swivel like the 2nd pic shows.
